• Tuesday 18 November 2025 Year 3/4 DT Photo frame planning Aut 2025 Year 3 and 4 have been busy in Design Technology this week, preparing for an exciting project – making their very own photo frames! Before starting the practical work, pupils took part in a detailed planning session to explore all the creative possibilities.
• Monday 17 November 2025 Road Safety Week 2025 This week, Holly Grove School took part in Road Safety Week, focusing on the importance of staying safe while walking, cycling, and travelling on new roads. Pupils learned key safety rules to help keep themselves and others safe near traffic.
• Friday 14 November 2025 Children in Need 2025 On Friday, 14th November, Holly Grove School joined thousands of schools across the country to support Children in Need 2025. Pupils and staff embraced the spirit of giving by taking part in a non-uniform day, with lots of bright colours and even a few Pudsey ears spotted around school!

The training took place on our playgrounds during lunchtimes and break times, and the children showed fantastic enthusiasm, focus, and teamwork throughout.

• Wednesday 15 October 2025 Year 3 & 4 Reading Buddies We recently held a lovely reading event where our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils became reading buddies for the younger children in Year 1 and Year 2. The older children read a wonderful selection of stories to their younger peers, creating a calm and joyful atmosphere filled with imagination and connection.
• Wednesday 15 October 2025 Burntwood Rotary offer of a Buddy Bench We're absolutely delighted to share that Burntwood Rotary, who have been creating beautiful Friendship Benches for local schools, have chosen Holly Grove to receive one before Christmas. We reached out earlier this year to express our interest and were told funding might not be available until next year... but at their committee meeting last night they voted to make one for us this term!
