• Wednesday 2 April 2025 Lent Charity Collection For our Easter Lent Charity we will be collecting for "The Max and George Trust Dog Rescue"
• Tuesday 1 April 2025 Year 6 go to Parliament Year 6 had an amazing trip to London which included meeting our MP Dave Robinson. We went into the House of Commons and the House of Lords. We learnt about how the laws are made and even saw the room the King gets ready in before he goes into Parliament to open it.

• Wednesday 26 March 2025 Holly Berries Talent Show 2025 We hosted our very first Talent show last night and what a super show it was! Wow are children are really talented! We had beautiful singing, dancing, a puppet shark, musical instruments, magic tricks and comedians! Amazing fun was had by all the children as well as the staff!
• Friday 21 March 2025 Outdoor Learning in Year 1/2 We have been enjoying the 1/2 outdoor learning area! The children have been role-playing as construction workers and mechanics. They have had loads of fun. Lots of problem solving and working together to get a solution. They were even pretending they were at the beach and sunbathing! While a few even had a go at some quiet, peaceful gardening.
• Friday 21 March 2025 Comic Relief Day 2025 We have a brilliant day on the 40th Anniversary of the first Red Nose Day! We had lots of children come in red or wearing comic relief t-shirts or bucket hats!
• Thursday 20 March 2025 Year 3/4 German Singing! Look at how well the children in year 3/4 are doing with their German! Even using it in outdoor games! Can you work out what song they are singing???
• Thursday 20 March 2025 Rail Safety Assembly Network Rail put on a very interesting online life assembly for our younger children today on how to be safe on a train and around train tracks. The children in Reception and KS1 all came together to watch it together. Afterwards the teachers answered questions from the children about the messages they had been given.
• Wednesday 19 March 2025 National Rail Workshop for KS2 children This morning we had our Network Rail assembly workshop teaching the children all about Railway safety. We learnt about the signs to look out for and lots of great advice on how to keep safe around railway tracks.

• Tuesday 11 March 2025 Year 1/2 Paired Yoga Year 1/2 have extended their yoga practice by trying some paired poses! We had lots of fun doing the double boat, the roof and the lizard on the rock! Which was tricky, but lots of fun! Well done everyone for showing super cooperation and happiness torch values today!
• Tuesday 11 March 2025 NSPCC Visit to Year 2 This afternoon we had some special visitors to Year 2 an amazing team from the NSPCC as part of their "Speak out and Stay Safe" Programme. We had a workshop and then we completed an activity booklet. We also got some special stickers to take home. We are going to do a bit more work in our workbooks tomorrow and then the children will be bringing these home to share with their families. Super listening skills today, great Torch Values of Respect. Well done children.
• Tuesday 11 March 2025 Reception The Farm Topic We have been thinking about "The Farm". We have had to create our own farms in the school world area, as well as using our cutting skills. We have also been enjoying the role play area - where "The Vets" is! We have been caring for the animals and trying to make them feel better.
• Tuesday 11 March 2025 Nursery Woodwork lesson We have been using a new tool in our woodwork lesson today! We have been using a screwdriver! We had to use lots of our fine motor skills to twist the screw into the wood with the screwdriver. We found this quite tricky, as we had to hold the wood to stop it turning around with the screwdriver! Some great problem solving in action!

• Monday 10 March 2025 Year 2 British Science week 2025 This afternoon as part of British Science Week, we have been investigating height. We talked about the different factors that might affect how tall we are. Then we measured each other using blocks and worked out our class average height. Finally, we drew that height out so we can compare it with the rest of the school in assembly! Great Torch value of Cooperation in action today!
• Thursday 6 March 2025 World Book Day 2025 We had a super WBD 2025! We have been hearing stories all week read by different adults from around the school. We also had our very first book swop! Which the children loved as they all got to take a new book home with them! We also gave out the WBD books which Mrs Willis collected from the shops! Today we had a lovely dress up day, where the children came in as their favourite book characters or in their PJ's for bedtime reading! We had prizes for the best outfits throughout school and there was a competition for decorating a stone as a book character/book theme. What a great week we have had!

• Tuesday 4 March 2025 Year 5/6 Gymnastics Team competition Winners! Well done to our Gymnastics team for their amazing routines at the recent Gymnastics competition! We entered the individual routines and the group one. The girls were brilliant and showed great torch values of cooperation, respect and a lot of happiness when we won! Super work Girls!
• Friday 28 February 2025 Young Voices Concert 2025 Our choir went to the Young Voices Concert at the Genting Arena and took part with loads of other schools in the Young voices concert. It was an amazing night and we had a super time. We sang and danced, enjoying seeing our parents watching us!
• Tuesday 25 February 2025 Year 3/4 Science -Digestive process Today we have been demonstrating the human digestive system. We used bread in a bowl (the mouth) using scissors (the incisors), then we added water (saliva) to the bowl and used a fork to grind the bread down (the molars). The food was then poured into a food bag (the stomach) and mixed with orange juice (acid). We squeezed the bag to mimic the stomach muscles churning the food with the stomach acid. The food was put into tights (entered the small intestine) when the liquid was removed from the chyme to leave behind the faeces.

• Tuesday 25 February 2025 Reception Observational Art The children in reception had great fun looking at the spring flowers and then drawing them! What great pictures! They really worked on hard on getting the colours and sizes right.
• Sunday 23 February 2025 Year 3/4 ICT 3D Model We have been learning about what a RAM, Hard Drive and CPU is. We then built a 3D model to show the components inside of the computer to demonstrate their importance and significance.
• Friday 14 February 2025 Year 3/4 DT Pencil Cases Year 3/4 have worked really hard on their designs for their own pencil cases in their DT topic. They had to really think about what they need to include and how to make it. They had to check their design and then evaluate how well they had followed their design. Look how proud they are of what they created!
• Friday 14 February 2025 Year 1/2 Valentines Hunt Year 1/2 have been on a Valentine's Day "heart" hunt today! Mrs Fellowes kindly knitted every child a love heart! They were all hidden around the Forest School area. The children had great fun finding their very own Valentine heart x
• Friday 14 February 2025 Watercolour Art Year 5/6 were working very hard on their silhouette cityscapes using watercolours. They learnt about how to mix the colours, how to not use too much paint or water. They experimented with their colours and blending.
• Friday 14 February 2025 Year 3/4 Forest school session The last session of Forest schools this half term, so they celebrated by having marshmallows! We didn't even notice that cold weather! We had super fun! Torch values loads on show this afternoon!
• Friday 14 February 2025 Year 2 DT Sewing What a productive afternoon we had in Year 2. We started our sewing samplers as part of our fine motor skills and as part of our DT topic. The children really concentrated hard on what they were doing and were all really engaged in the activity. We can't wait to finish them!!
