It's been an amazing week! I wasn't sure how this week was going to go, but everyone that has been in has been so interesting and wonderful with the children.
Throughout the week the children have learnt so much about a really wide range of jobs and jobs that I didn't even knew existed!
The children have been wonderful, so receptive to all the speakers. Their listening has been fabulous and they have really shown their TORCH values to all
The children's confidence in asking relevant questions has also really improved throughout the week
The children's oracy skills have shone through this week in a really practical way this week. They have wanted to ask questions because they have been interested in what the speaker has been saying.
At the start of the week we asked the children what they thought they might want to be in the future. The best answer was " I have an idea, but hopefully that will have changed by the end of this week, as I hope to be inspired!" A great answer from one of our Year 6 children. And when we asked at the end of the week, they said they have been made to think about what they thought was important.
The speakers not only spoke about their jobs but also related it to what the children are doing in school, by saying if you like maths then finance it a great thing to do. The members of the Army who came in spoke about the opportunities that is open to them - not just being a solider but having a sports career, or being a musician or a chef! It's been great!
What an amazing experience for all our children and staff.
