Designing and Planning Photo Frames in DT!
Year 3 and 4 have been busy in Design Technology this week, preparing for an exciting project – making their very own photo frames! Before starting the practical work, pupils took part in a detailed planning session to explore all the creative possibilities.
The children investigated a variety of materials they could use and discussed how each one might affect the strength and appearance of their frames. They also explored different design ideas, thinking about shapes, styles, and how to make their frames unique.
Colour and decoration were big talking points too! Pupils considered a wide range of colours, patterns, and embellishments to personalise their designs. Throughout the session, they worked collaboratively – listening to each other’s ideas, sharing suggestions, and making thoughtful decisions about what would work best.
This planning stage has set the foundation for some fantastic creations. We can’t wait to see the finished photo frames soon!
