Year 1/2 Forest School Fun for Mental Health Day!

To celebrate Mental Health Day, our Year 1/2 children set off on an exciting nature walk to Jubilee Wood—a very special place where Holly Grove pupils helped plant trees back in 2023!

Walking in pairs, the children made their way up Ironstone Road with big smiles and brilliant behaviour. Once they arrived, the real adventure began! As part of our journey towards the Platinum Award in the Woodland Trust’s Green Tree Schools Award, the children became mini explorers, diving into a world of nature and discovery.

Armed with compasses and collection cards, they followed trails, searched for seeds, flowers, and leaves, and even spotted some fluffy rabbit hair! There were squeals of excitement as they stuck their treasures onto their cards and shared their findings with friends.

The session ended with a joyful game of hide and seek among the trees—laughter echoing through the woods—before heading back to school for a well-earned snack.

It was a day full of fresh air, fun, and forest magic, and a perfect way to connect with nature and support our wellbeing. Well done, Year 1/2—you were amazing adventurers!
